Chairman - Tan Sri Dato (Dr) Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman
(PSM, SPSK, SIMP, DPCM, DJMR, DIMP, PMK, KMN, SMK)
Tan Sri Abdul Aziz is an advocate and solicitor and a partner in the law firm of Nik Saghir & Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. He has more than 35 years experience in managing public and private corporations. He started by serving the Government for 15 years, the first 7 years as an administrative officer and for 8 years, he was in the judicial and legal service of the Federal Government.
He subsequently served Malaysia Airlines from its inception in 1971 as Company Secretary and Director of Legal Affairs. He retired in 1991 as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, a position he held for 10 years. He was responsible for its vast expansion and for turning MAS into a profitable and leading player in the world of aviation.
Tan Sri Abdul Aziz is a fellow of several institutes and for several years served as the President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Malaysia. He served as the President of the International Council of the Chartered Institute of Transport with its headquarters in London for one term. This was the first time an Asian has been accorded such privilege by election. He also sits on a number of boards of public listed and private companies in Malaysia and abroad.
The Group Managing Director - Mr. Anthony Wong
Anthony and a team of young adventure enthusiasts established AOS in 1976. His fist job with AOS was a guide at the age of 17 years old. In 1976, he and a team of enthusiastic adventurers established Asian Overland Services Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd. His immense experiences and tireless efforts to promote eco tourism have been recognized locally and internationally with the numerous awards and accolades received. As an established and distinguished speaker,
Anthony is frequently invited to give talks and seminars on issues of the travel industry, and has featured on local television networks and media on his achievements and views on sustainable tourism. His pet project, The Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa is a green hotel and he hopes to make it a showcase and model to encourage other hotels to shift towards greener practices.
Deputy Group Managing Director - Ms. Cindy Wong
Cindy Wong worked as the Executive Secretary in the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt but as the travel business continued to grow she decided to quit her job to take care of the daily management of AOS. Her administration and accounting background enable her to fit in the role easily. With her keen sense of business, she played a vital role in growing the organization.
Trained as a Chartered Secretary, Sook Ling decided to join AOS out of curiosity about the travel industry and has never looked back since. She served as the Sales Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager and Incentive & Convention Manager and finally promoted to the Managing Director.
With more than 19 years of experience in the business, Sook Ling oversees the overall daily operations of the company and still makes it a point to travel widely overseas and locally for research, update of products and to touch base with our overseas agents.
Group Finance Manager - Ms. Catherine Yap (CIMA, CA)
She is a Member of Chartered Instititue Accounts of United Kingdom and a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia Institutue of Accountants. She joined AOSTT as Group Finance Manager in 2011. She is actively involved in the stragegic planning and control of the group's financial and accounting function in leisure,tours and travels, recreation, hotels and resorts management, events and conventions.
Prior to joining AOSTT Group of Companies, she gained her knowledge and experience in various support sectors in both local and MNC status companies in insurance, manufacturing and distribution, education, turnkey and privatization projects.
