Summer Camp

Our Summer Camp offers a unique atmosphere in which Mother Nature and experiential learning are emphasised. At the end of the programme, children will be able to foster personal growth in a highly encouraging environment, make new friends and instill lifelong values of teamwork and individual responsibility in day to day task. We offer exciting activities such as river and jungle trekking, a jungle survival programme, nature art, compass march, orienteering and many more for kids to engage their mind whilst having fun.

Malacca is one of Malaysia’s four UNESCO heritage sites. The historic colonial towns is a living testimony of the multicultural heritage of traditional Asia and European colonial influences. Here, many battles were fought to gain control of this strategic base located between the Eastern and Western world leading to the monopoly and control of the lucrative East Indies’ spice trade. When the early European settlers departed, they left behind a treasure trove of historical buildings and landmarks synonymous to Malacca.

The quiet hamlet of Kampung Kuantan in Kuala Selangor has one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. The tiny twinkling orangy lights amongst the mangrove trees are synchronized, rhythmic scintillation produced by thousands of fireflies - truly a magical sight. Do not miss this!

The Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary is a conservation centre is run by The Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The main task of the department’s staffs is locating, subduing and then translocating elephants from areas where their habitats have been destroyed in the name of urbanization. Tour includes elephant ride, elephant feeding and for the brave, water activities such as swimming and bathing the elephants in the river. You will also be stop by at the Aborigine settlement to have an insight of the aborigine culture of Malaysia.

Templer’s Park is located 22 km north of bustling Kuala Lumpur is an expansive area of lush green forests, wide varieties of flora and faunas, cascading waterfalls nestling beside the Serendah Forest Reserve and the landscaped Commonwealth Forest Park. The area is a great spot for bird-watching, picnics, jungle trekking along trails along side gurgling stream.

After a trek, you can take dips in the cool, natural swimming pool found at the foot of the trail into the park or at the Templer Park Falls. A true rendezvous with nature!

The Orchid Garden houses about 3000 species of orchid plants, of which 800 species are from Malaysia. In the Deer Park, spotted the deers roaming freely within the perimeters of the park or the shy and gentle mouse deer, the world's smallest hoofed animal. Spread across 110 acres of land, the Malaysian Zoo is run by a non governmental organization – the Malaysian Zoological. The Zoo features over 400 species of local exotic mammals, reptiles, fish and birds, majority of which are fish and birds. One of the more popular stops is the “Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium” which displays over 80 species of aquatic animals and invertebrates, both marine and freshwater.

The highlight of your next destination is the ‘School of Hard Knocks’ at the Pewter Gallery. With just a few simple tools (hammer, wooden mould, scraper), you can personalize a pewter dish with your initials or messages.


KULTO 18 – PULAU KETAM ‘CRAB ISLAND’ TOUR

Pulau Ketam offers an interesting view of the busy harbour and the mangrove swamps of nearby islands. The unique feature of this place is that the entire fishing community lives in a village where even the roads are build on stilts! Fiddler crabs, mud crabs, strange mudskippers and marshland birds, are some of the frequent visitors. Take a leisurely stroll to see how the once desolated village is now a must-stop for most locals and tourists. Not much have changed in this rustic fishing village famous for its fresh seafood, despite its fame, villagers continue to go about doing their daily chores amongst visiting tourists.

On the way back, we will drive by the fabulous Palace of the Sultan of Selangor, the Sultan Salahuddin Mosque or Blue Mosque, famed for having the biggest dome in the country and some of the tallest minarets in the world and Thean Hou Temple, one of the largest Chinese temples in South-East Asia.

Pulau Payar is a marine park offering protection for its diverse marine life. It is also a great place for snorkelling and a rather popular site for coral reef diving. The dive area near the sunken fishing vessel is teaming with fish and there is a resident 40cm lionfish.

Visit the Reclining Buddha (Wat Chayamangkalaram) the 4th longest reclining Buddha in the world. Next stop at Fort Corwallis, of the English East India Co., where Captain Francis Light landed in 1786. At the Khoo Kongsi Clan House, you will be fascinated by the intricate carvings on the wall pillars and the roof by master craftsmen from China. This scenic tour takes you to the Bukit Charas limestone outcrop located in the north westof Kuantan. It is famous for its Thai-Buddhist temple nestled deep in its cave cavity. A short climb up a narrow footway leads to the entrance and inside the main cathedral cave lies the 9 meters Reclining Buddha statue. From the entrance of the cave, towering above rubber and oil-palm plantations one has a picturesque view of the landscape. Not far away in the nearby Nature Reserve where there is an arboretum for rattan plants, is a beautiful cascading waterfall. Don’t miss a cool and refreshing dip in

the natural pool.

Day 02

Pick up for Sandakan to the Sepilok Orangutan Centre. You will also be delighted and entertained watching these charming creatures being fed. Proceed to either a nature trail walk in the rainforest or watch a video on nature at the Nature Education Centre. Local lunch at Mile 8, Sandakan, then proceed for a 02hrs drive to Gomantung Cave to explore the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah. Continue overland to river lodge. Check in upon arrival, after relaxing and a afternoon tea break, start the evening rivers cruise on the Kinabatagan River (Stay at Lodge along the Kinabatangan River).

Visit the Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. The entire facility occupies an area of 740 acres, the only remaining green belt near to the City offering a sanctuary for Orang Utans. The Centre is a temporary home for displaced Orang Utans also known as “men of the jungle”. They have been rescued from captivity or are young orphans and are trained or re-trained to survive in their natural surroundings. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding time scheduled everyday at the feeding platform. On returning to the city, stop for a visit to a pottery for a close up look at nimble hands fashioning works of art. Watch the potter at his wheel and see what happens when pieces of clay is baked and then painted. This is also a good place to pick up souvenirs as a keepsake of your trip.

Enroute you can view the country side dotted with padi fields, cocoa smallholdings, pepper vineyards and old rubber plantations. The narrow road to the village is often shaded by jungle foliage and primary rain forest. This is the oldest National Park, which offers the perfect introduction to the Sarawak forest & wild life. The park is located at the northern tip of Muara Tebas Peninsula. It can be reach by a half hour drive by coach & another 30 minutes by boat. The park has on area of 16 sq. km. of primary forest with an abundance of botanical treasures made up of 25 types of vegetation. Amongst this plant life is the carnivorous pitcher plant. Bako’s mangrove forest is home to the Proboscis Monkey, found only in Borneo. Other species found here are the Long Tailed Macaques, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Monitor Lizards and Bearded Pigs. There are a number of trails exploring the Park with a several indented sandy bays providing excellent swimming grounds. Lunch at the park canteen. Return to Kuching in the afternoon.

KCHTO-7 BAKO NATIONAL PARK

Day 01

08:30 hrs - Morning departure for the Bako National Park. A half hour ride takes you to the fishing village of Bako to board a boat for the Park headquarters. Bako is the oldest gazetted national park in Sarawak. It offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak flora and fauna. The 16 square kilometres of primary forests is home to seven distinct ecosystems; beach vegetation, cliff vegetation, mangrove, peat swamp forests, mixed dipterocarp forest, heath forest and grasslands. Constant erosion over millions of years has turned the Bako coastline into a unique geographical landmark. Cliff faces, sandstone structures, sea stacks and pristine sandy beaches dot the area. Wildlife include the rather intrusive long tailed macaques which roam all over and their shier cousins, the silver leaf monkeys and the rare, long-nosed, pot bellied proboscis monkey. Other denizens include flying lemur, mouse deer, bearded pigs, bats, tarsiers, slow loris and palm civet cats. Please note that these animals are wild and therefore, there is no guarantee that visitors will see them. There are 16 trails, each offering close-up look at different aspects of the Park. Discuss with your guide, what your interests are, to get the most out of your time at the Bako National Park. A night walk allows Visitors to take a closer look at the night denizens of the Park, the flying lemur, bats, tarsiers, slow loris and palm civet cats. Again, there is no guarantee that you will see them as wild nature does not perform on queue. Lunch and dinner at the Park canteen provided. 0900 hrs departure on your overnight Lemanak River Longhouse adventure. The journey to the Lemanak Rivertakes 4 hours (232 km). Along the way, pass fields which may be green or gold with sheaves of padi (rice) or being left to fallow, pepper plantations and roadside kampungs. Stop for lunch at a tiny little town, Lachau, redolent with the aroma of pepper. At the Lemanak river, native longboats take you up to an Iban longhouse. Along this river live the famous Ibans who were once the most fearsome pirates and headhunters. Today they live harmoniously as farmers, fishing and hunting in the surrounding jungles.
