History

The Langkawi Sky Bridge was conceptualized in the early 1990s. Due to the high cost of construction and lack of funds, the project was postponed indefinitely. Langkawi Sky Bridge was opened for public use on 28 February 2005. It was opened after 12 Months of Construction of the bridge. During the construction of this bridge, it faced many challenges including transporting materials and prefabricated parts to the top of the mountain using helicopters, optimal loading and weight distribution, structural stability and weight distribution. The Langkawi Sky Bridge has also been used and introduced through the famous foreign film “Don’s Chase: A New Beginning.”

Things visitors can do when you visit the Langkawi Sky Bridge, include:

  • Taking pictures of the island and the sea is really beautiful.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch while enjoying the stunning scenery.
  • Hike or bike along the path that runs under the bridge.
  • Stroll with the family through the park that surrounds the bridge.
  • Watching the sunset at dusk.

Get In

From Jeti Kuah, visitors can rent a car to continue to Oriental Village at the foot of Mount Mat Chinchang. It is 30 minutes away from Kuah town. From afar, visitors have the opportunity to see the cable car floating high in the air. Tickets are sold at RM30.00 per person for adults and RM20.00 for children. Malaysian citizens with MyKad will usually be given a special discount. Operating hours are usually between 9.30 am to 7.00 pm. There is no cable car service available at night. Food and drinks are not allowed to be brought up because it will pollute the environment, especially if thrown from the cable car.
