History

Located in Bandar Kuah and next to the jetty, Eagle Square is a place that reflects the origin of Langkawi’s name. This square is asked with a massive 12-meter sculpture of a reddish-brown vulture that is ready to take off. The name Langkawi has been derived from the reddish brown eagle, because in the old Malay language Elang means Eagle, and Kawi means reddish brown. So this man-made statue of a vulture placed on a concrete platform shaped like a big star was created to depict this background where the eagle is the symbol of Langkawi.

Position

Dataran Helang(Eagle Square) was built in a strategic location close to the Langkawi ferry terminal port or known as jetty point. Here there are many facilities provided in the vicinity. such as toilets, restaurants, fast food restaurants such as KFC, Kenny Rogers, subways. There is also a Kandar rice restaurant. The surau is set up inside the jetty point. Inside this there is also a chocolate shop and HIG, which is famous for its plate and bowl shops such as Correl and Luminac. and many more. inside this there is also a Watson drug store and there is a 7 eleven nearby.

Get In

Admission is free. It is open to the public and public from early morning to 12 at night only. From the terminal you only need to walk 100 meters to get to this eagle square. While from Langkawi airport it will take 30 minutes. Next to This square is located in the reaction park, which is the legendary park, and also near the Langkawi Fair mall, which sells designer clothes, secret recipes, salons, and billion supermarkets.
